Labadee Stays Off the Map: Royal Caribbean Extends Cancellations Through June 2027
Sixty-two more port calls scrubbed as Royal Caribbean keeps its private Haitian destination on ice — here's where your ship is going instead.
If Labadee was on your 2027 cruise planner, grab a pencil with a good eraser. Royal Caribbean has confirmed it's extending the suspension of all calls to its private destination in Haiti through June 2027, wiping out the 62 visits that were on the books for the first half of next year.
"As we continue to evaluate conditions in Haiti and our ability to deliver the best vacations responsibly, we have decided to extend the suspension of ship calls to Labadee through June 2027," the line said in a statement, adding that the call was made "with the safety and well-being of our guests and crew members in mind."
This isn't a new posture — Royal Caribbean already cancelled all of 2026's Labadee visits back in January amid Haiti's ongoing unrest, and the U.S. State Department still has the country at Level 4: Do Not Travel. The resort itself sits 134 miles and six-plus hours of rough road from Port-au-Prince, behind fencing and private security, but the line clearly isn't interested in threading that needle.
So where are the ships going instead? Guest letters started going out July 14, and the replacement roster reads like a Caribbean greatest-hits album: Nassau, Puerto Plata, Samana, Cozumel, Costa Maya, Ponce, and — surprising exactly no one — Perfect Day at CocoCay. Some big names are affected, including the new Icon-class siblings Star of the Seas and Legend of the Seas, plus Allure, Harmony, Odyssey, and more. Legend is also quietly dropping several Falmouth, Jamaica calls in the reshuffle.
The practical bits: itineraries update automatically, and any Labadee shore excursions booked through the line are cancelled and refunded without you lifting a finger. If your heart was set on that famous zipline over the bay, you'll have to keep waiting — and if you're booked on an affected sailing, check your email and your app before you build the countdown calendar.
