MSC just rearranged three ships for the winter 2027-28 season like someone reshuffling a hand they don't love, and the headline is this: MSC World Europa is out of the Middle East. Again.

The 215,863-gross-ton giant was supposed to run 7-night loops through the UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain, boarding from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha. Instead it heads back to the Western Mediterranean — Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Messina, Valletta. That's now two winters running that MSC has pulled the ship from the region, after last year's exit amid escalating tensions and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. This time MSC gave no reason at all, which somehow says more than a press release would.

Everybody Move Down One

The reshuffle knocks over the next domino. Brand-new MSC World Asia, debuting December 2026 and also 215,863 tons, was penciled in for the Med — now it's exiled to the Southern Caribbean, sailing 7- and 14-night runs from Fort-de-France, Pointe-a-Pitre, and Bridgetown. And MSC Meraviglia, bumped out of that Caribbean slot, is now listed for South America, with itineraries MSC hasn't bothered to detail yet.
