Royal Caribbean is planting a flag in Singapore and — for once — not pulling it out three months later. Starting October 2026, Navigator of the Seas goes year-round at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, all the way through October 2028. That makes it the line's first summer sailings in Southeast Asia since 2023, back when half of us were still figuring out what a muster station was.

Out of Singapore, Navigator runs short and punchy 2- to 5-night itineraries into Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam — think Penang, Port Klang, and Phuket. Perfect bite-sized trips for the first-time cruiser who wants to test the waters before committing to a full week at sea.

Then the season levels up. From October 2027 through March 2028, Quantum of the Seas joins the party with meatier 3- to 10-night runs reaching Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Japan. Bumper cars, the North Star observation pod, and a skydiving simulator included — because Royal Caribbean physically cannot deploy a ship without something to strap yourself into.

Bookings opened August 19, so the Singapore-curious among the crew can start plotting now.

The bigger read: cruise lines spent the last couple years treating Asia like an on-again, off-again situationship. A year-round commitment through 2028 is Royal saying the region is worth showing up for every season, not just the convenient ones. Filing this one under "itineraries the Golden Crew should absolutely be pitching for a future episode" — Tim from Australia is basically already in the neighborhood.
